Gillespie Withdraws from IPL - Early start with Glamorgan
The Indian Premier League will be going ahead without star bowler Jason Gillespie due to personal terms. This has put a smile on the face of management at Glamorgan in England’s County Cricket.
After fears he would miss the opening six weeks of the season because of commitments with the Indian Premier League, Gillespie is hoping to be available for the Dragons from the start of the season after withdrawing from the IPL.
“I decided to withdraw from the IPL because I couldn’t agree personal terms,” said the 32-year-old, who was one of several Australians to decide against joining the new multi-million pound tournament.
“At the end of the day it’s no big deal and I am looking forward to joining Glamorgan for the start of the season in April so I won’t be missing any county cricket this year.”
