Jason Gillespie the Key to SA Twenty20

South Australia expects the guile of evergreen paceman Jason Gillespie to be a crucial factor in Tuesday night’s Twenty20 clash with NSW.

Gillespie will spearhead the Redbacks bowling attack in the Adelaide Oval fixture with support from the likes of Paul Rofe and Ryan Harris.

SA coach Mark Sorell said selectors had kept the faith in their 50-over team for the abbreviated format.

“It was a difficult decision, but after much thought selectors have decided not to change the current dynamics,” Sorell said.

“With four (50 over) wins in the past five games played, we’re keen to keep the momentum going.”

He identified former Australian fast bowler Gillespie as a key.

“The consistency and guile of Gillespie and Rofe will position us well to contain NSW to a gettable chase,” he said.
